Burlington is a state in the Southern census region. Its state capital is also called Burlington. Burlington borders Southern Territories, Marbella, Milford, Sannama and Blakeney. The biggest city in the state is Whitton, the third city of New Shetland. The state is quite rich and industrialized.
Most inhabitants of Burlington are originally German or Spanish. Many poor Bohemian and Bavarian workers migrated to the country in the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century. Nowadays many people still have Czech or German surnames. The Spanish part of the population consists of Mexican workers that immigrated to New Shetland in the twentieth century. A small minority has its roots in the Llamada colony instead.
