Bridge City is a small town west of the city of Blakeney in the eponymous state of Blakeney. The town was built in the 1950s when real estate developers from the city of Blakeney planned a commuters town west of the city in order to serve the ever-expanding Blakeney urban area. Bridge City has 4,700 inhabitants.
The town has two high schools, three elementary schools and a kindergarten. There is a small hospital that is used by inhabitants of Bridge City, Orange City, Bloom, Richland and some smaller villages close to the town.
The West Blakeney State Power Plant is situated in Bridge City.
